Role and Responsibilities
The Surgical Assistant will help surgeons during surgery by performing duties such as tissue retraction, intravenous lines and completing documentation.
- Â Provide concierge level customer service while interacting with patients, referring offices and team members over the phone, in person, or via electronic communication
- Successfully work individually and/or in a team environment
- Attention to detail is a must when updating and maintaining patient insurance information
- Maintains doctor schedule to ensure efficient use of the doctor’s time
- Partner with clinical team to ensure excellent patient experience
- Adhere to deadlines and prioritize work against the patient schedule
- Collect payments from patients in an effective and professional manner
- Ability to understand doctor treatment recommendations and develop treatment plan from the diagnosis
- Ability to effectively communicate treatment options and associate costs to the patient
- Understanding of dental terminology is necessary
- Maintain confidentiality of all information in accordance with HIPAA
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Minimum of 1-year customer service experience required
- Medical or dental experience preferred
- Highschool diploma or equivalent required
